WHAT IS BIKENODE?
Bike node is a free directory of cycling links for the global cycling community. It provides a central place for cyclists to easily seek information about anything to do with bikes. It also benefits other bicycle-related businesses through added exposure.
THE BIKE NODE VISION:
The idea is simple: "to help connect cyclists".
The aim is to help to consolidate all types of cycling websites. My hope is that Bike Node will one day become "the most comprehensive cycling resource on the planet".
WHY IS IT FREE?
I look at it this way: do you have to pay for Youtube, Wikipedia or Wordpress? No, and that is partly the reason for their popularity & success.
I'm pretty sure that most cycling websites would not pay to be listed here, especially if it is a non-profit organisation or cycling blog. Most proffesional webmasters have a strong aversion to plastering reciprocal links and logos on their webpages (it looks understandably tacky).
So I feel the best way to expand my list of cycling links is by offering them at no charge! That way, we'll grow naturally and cyclists will hopefully refer back to us volantarily.
WHY ARE YOU HERE?
The main reason I created this entire site was to help generate exposure for not-so-well-known cyclists in the bike industry. Big bike businesses don't need to worry about actively chasing after extra links as they have already made a name for themselves -one or two additional internet referrals won't make much difference for them (although I have added many already well-known companies to the bikenode index).
For niche businesses however, or ones in their intial stages, the difference between getting a lead or not getting one is much more significant. They're the one's I'm hoping to help... and of course all those riders out there trying to make sense of tens of thousands of webpages devoted to bikes.

WHAT FUTURE PLANS DO YOU HAVE FOR BIKE NODE?
Life is already too complicated, so there are just a few simple features I'd like to add in future: First and foremost is the actual url link address in the confirmation e-mail; possibly a better menu navigation bar. Of course you can also expect lots of new categories & links.
