 | Mountain Bike Park - Slovenia
Our mountain bike park is about 400 million years old. The truth is that it hasn't always looked like it does today - the wooded Krnes used to be a volcano, while waves from the ancient ocean Tetis crashed against the rocky side of the Peca mountain.
Traces of the first visitors were found in a cave under the ridge of Olševa. Thirty thousand years ago primitive inhabitants hunted deer and bears in this park.
The steep slopes, long distances and boredom of autumn nights all played their part in the hunters' invention of the mountain bike.
We cannot find these first bicycles as they were made of dreams, however, the image of these primitive people on their bicycles still lies deep inside us. They might have seen the drawings of the war dance somewhere on the other side of western mountains, but it was them who added wheels to the drawings.
Today the ghosts of these warriors frequently watch over lonely mountain bikers in our park and show those most courageous the paths they had ridden to chase the now long-extinct cave-bears.
MOUNTAIN BIKE NETWORK
The labyrinth of forest paths and cart tracks, suitable for mountain biking, leading through and between the valleys or to and around the mountains, is marked or described in brochures.
Our mountain bike tracks are linked to the neighbouring cycling networks: in the south it borders on Logarska valley, westwards on Jezersko with its biking paths and in the north there are the south Carinthian biking paths in Austria.

Woodhill Goes Green..
Woodhill is proud to be going green...and we encourage all other businesses to do the same.
We have introduced recycling bins to reduce as much waste going to landfill as possible. It took a long time to organise and not even the Rodney District Council, Waitakere District Council or the ARC could offer a solution. Neither could every company listed under recycling in the yellow pages or Recycling NZ...some were more than happy to charge us for a recycling service only for us to find they were taking it straight to landfill sites.
• A lengthy investigation is going on to implement Solar Power. The hurdle we face at the moment is the significant cost to set up a suitable system.
• Green Toilet Blocks. Our ladies chemical free natural toilets are very
effective units and the mens toilets will be converted in 2008.
• A new registration system will be implemented in late 2008 to help reduce the amount of paper we currently use.

The first bike park of the Canary Islands with more than 130,000 square metres, located in the North of Tenerife. In the beginning of 2006, a group of bikers from the Canary Islands decided to create BikeParkTenerife. Our main motto is "made by bikers for other bikers". Our installations will start to offer most of the activities in the Summer of 2007. Contrary to the norm, BikeParkTenerife is not a ski resort that decided to do business in the Summer by offering bike activities. These installations are created exclusively for mountainbiking with the added advantage that due to our favourable weather, you can ride all year around.
